Rick, Cameron and I spent a day in San Francisco while Trevor was away at camp. We went to Pier 39 to walk the shops and watch the sea lions bask in the sun. We also got in a great lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. (Cameron LOVES crab!)
As most of you know, our real reason for playing hooky from school was our trip to UCSF Pediatric Neurology. WELL WORTH THE VISIT! It is amazing the kind of medical care that they are able to provide.
Here are the highlights of the visit:
We had a two-hour appointment with a neurologist who specializes in this field.
She is bringing Cameron's MRI image to a team of specialists for review and input next Tuesday.
She started Cameron on a medication that has VERY LITTLE side effects rather than the medication we were previously recommended (It was FRIGHTENING!).
Cameron will have an MRI in Jan/Feb on a brand new state-of-the-art machine that will give much more info. They will also be checking to see if the mass has changed or grown.
If Cameron has a mild seizure of ANY KIND, we have a number to call where a neurologist will be available 24 hours a day. All seizures are to be called in and his new doctor will be notified each time. (unconscious seizures we call 911)
Cameron's local pediatrician will be contacted and directed to order an EKG for Cameron locally.
We were given this doctor's phone number, email, and urgent call number.
We were given clear guidelines on what to do, lots of information about what we are dealing with, and reassurance that this most likely will not be a life-long issue - WOW!
This is how medical care should be. Cameron is in great hands!

I feel so relieved that Cameron is in good hands, and that the meeting went so well. Cameron is in my daily prayers, and adored by my entire family.
