I coordinated a 3 Week Workshop this summer in which both boys attended. They learned how to do all kinds of projects on the computer including these "delightful" pics. (Dad got in on the act on Showcase Night). Take a peek at some of the writing the boys produced!
My Most Memorable Memory
By: Cameron
Two years ago was one of the most memorable days of my life. It was on New Years. It was pretty much the same as any other old New Years. The kids, Dylan, Nick, Derek, Anthony, Kelsie, my brother, and I played upstairs in the playroom playing video games. The parents stayed downstairs watching TV and talking to one another about last year and what their goals are for this year.
Then it was time to use string poppers shaped as a gun with a little trigger. It is a tradition that we use every year. That is what everyone looks forward to the most. My brother was excited to use them because he was finally old enough. He wanted to use them before, but my parents would not let him. They said he was too young and he would hurt himself. As my friend was handing them out we heard a loud BANG! Everyone stopped in their place wondering what happened. Then out of nowhere we heard a big “CRY!”
We all looked at the direction where it was coming from. It was my brother! I rushed downstairs. As I was running downstairs I was thinking, “What is going to happen? Is he going to go blind?” “Trevor shot himself in the eye with the popper,” I screamed as I was panting and gasping for breath. After I said it I was in shock to see that everyone was staring at me with their eyes wide open. My mom sprinted up the stairs and my dad jumped over the railing of the stairs. Everyone ran up stairs. He was screaming, “I’M BLIND! I CAN’T SEE!” I was terrified.
The LA Dodger Story
By: Trevor
I love baseball! For some people it is a game, but, for me it is life. My favorite baseball team is the LA Dodgers. I have liked that team since the day I was born. I was born a Dodger fan and I will die a Dodger fan.
My family is Dodger crazy. I like to say, "I bleed Dodger blue." If you already heard my story about my 6th birthday, then you will know that I have had a Dodger birthday more than once. I am even thinking about making my room an all around Dodger blue room. The last Dodger game I went to was not too long ago. It was in Florida at their spring training. This was their last year to hold spring training in Florida! I got my favorite player, Russel Martin, to sign my helmet that sits on my shelf.
My dad is an even bigger fan! He is very loco! He painted his whole face blue and white with his little brother at a LA Dodger game. We have a picture of them in the wall in my house. But he is cool to me!
The dodgers lead me on a journey to heaven. So, if you want to go to heaven be a Dodger fan! It's so fun!
